This one sets the bar..

She never seems to get a spot but here's one hidden from the back of the folder. Under-appreciated and behind the scene. Backbone of the Reunion.!!

Few more?

It's still a chore to try and post but I'm thinking that a smart web master could eliminate the hassle to a simple "click here to post" and perhaps more will participate. Most Southern hayseeds don't bother if it's not simple to them. Even after posting previously this became a chore to get posted but there again my mental capacities ARE limited at best.........

Reunion 2006 pix from Peter O

I was going to put captions on all these, but then thought "why would I want to do that?" Everybody knows everybody else, right?

Canadians to the rescue.

Sharing a story from the Sun Herald of the special group of people who helped Greg Herman and some others folks on the coast get back into their Katrina devastated homes.

One Lucky Humpty Dumpty

Until a few weeks after Katrina this bombproof Humpty Dumpty sat on the corner of Cowan and Highway 90, situated basically at sea level. This pic was taken the day after the storm. His raised hand was about 14' high. The storm surge was at least 28 feet in this area, which meant Humpty had an additional 14' of water over the top of his hand for several hours. Miraculously, he survived with nothing more than skinned knees. Oh the irony.

What is this site about anyway?

The College Park Community blog is a web site dedicated to all who live or have ever lived in the College Park subdivision in Gulfport, Mississippi. Every couple of years we College Parkers, both former and current, get together over the Labor Day weekend at the Community Center grounds for a picnic to have a good time renewing old friendships and making new ones. And in the meantime, we stay connected and enjoy each other's company via this site.

We welcome your participation and invite you to post your thoughts, pictures, videos, music, etc., about life in College Park as YOU know it or knew it! So don't be shy or think it's too hard to post, it isn't because you'll have plenty of support if you get stuck!

We are currently putting together the definitive history of College Park with the help of Patrick Collins and other members of the Collins family, the founders of this great residential area near the beach in Gulfport. It's a neighborhood situated on high ground in east Gulfport. Look for a separate page called History of College Park in the next couple of months.

CPR 2006: A Good Time Had By All Who Made It!

This year's College Park Reunion was smaller in terms of the number of people who showed up, but it was even more interesting, rowdy and fun than both previous years. (If you can believe that!) Even with the Gulfport-Biloxi beach and everything inland fubared beyond description, it was still easy to find a place to hang with old friends and shoot the proverbial breeze.

There's a mix of still shots and videos too, so don't miss 'em. They will run in a Google Video page and play for both broadband and dialup users.
