Yes, my friends, I definitely feel that we as a people have ignored how our selfish lifestyles affects this earth's delicate balance. I do applaud you for voicing your opinions, but I must remind you that this site is to share memories of College Park, whether these memories be recent or from our childhood.
Soon we will be posting information for the upcoming reunion happening Memorial Day 2008.
So may I make a suggestion to have an offshoot from this blog to post concerns, whether they be politial or environmental? We all would love to hear of the concrete efforts that each of us are making to live greener.

There is a page dedicated to covering the global warming issue and others related to the environment:
http://whirledhomejournal.blogspot.com
Then why post the questions of global warming here?
There is no real question of global warming, or of its source (at least afaiac).
And for the record I didn't post first about global warming here. I replied to Peter's post about it, which contained a desultory personal reference or two I didn't really care for.
hmmm, so if there is no question then why have the polls -
Is global warming real?
and
Are humans causing global warming?
Yes, Pete did post first, about Carbon Scrubbers. Quite funny, but true twist of the global warming issue. But I saw nothing insulting in that post.
Now, the response post with someone's head up their butt was definitely rude.
Once more, only my opinion.....
The polls are to determine whether people believe or disbelieve global warming and its source.
The Carbon Scrubber post was the first post Peter made in public about something that has been brewing behind the scenes (email) for a while.
And as much as you or I would like to believe that planting trees constitutes doing something, we are mistaken.

Me rude? The truth is rude.
You just don't get...
This was a fun place where members of CP could come to reminence and catch up with what's new with the neighborhood and upcoming reunions.
So what if it wasn't getting many hits or postings, it was friendly. Now the whole attitude has changed.
Why is it so hard to direct this environment dispute to the blog where it belongs?
Read from the top of this page down, it seems you have missed my point.
After the visit the whirledhomejournal I see that there is no place to post one's opinion.
I have things to share but I don't feel this is the place....
LOL, actually, I don't care if you two continue to duke it out, I just don't feel the CP page is the place for it.
I figured Jay would understand this since he is in marketing. One of the main rules is to understand the projected audience. We don't want to scare folks from attending the reunion because they fear they will get bullied into taking sides.
Besides, from what I can see the you both agree on the main issues -
Global warming does exist
People are arrogant polluters
If you want to argue about the "Whys" then that is your business. It just seems like alot of wasted energy.
Oh yeah, that could be a third thing to agree on -
People waste alot of energy.
LOL, can't help but love you two.
