9/10ths. Pool

Resent rains and a cutback in downstream flow has rewarded this lake to 9/10ths. pool. Daily flow from surrounding lakes and tributaries exceeds 100 million gallons a day. Amazing volume.

Is this a picture of the same lake in your prior posting?

Awesome! Last years was drought and this year is abundance.

Renewal at least...

and you thought it was half empty.

and you agreed...

"Your absolutely rite, it's half empty."

It's closer to normal for the first time in a couple years, mainly because of outflow reductions (which are temporary) and some decent precip.

This is the season when most lakes and reservoirs rise to their highest levels, so the apparent abundance could be deceiving, especially if the drought persists and Atlanta keeps flushing toilets, watering lawns, golf courses, parks, etc.

Sorry but all those activities will continue and increase with the population growth. The lake your looking at, is Allatoona not Lanier. Lanier's flow chart exceeds 100 million by itself. My half-empty was your perception as is all your perceptions of human activity on this planet a half empty glass polluting the rest of the world surrounding it.Lanier -15ft. Long way to go yet.

Half empty glasses polluting? How colorfully fractured!

Misanthropes don't think up and help organize neighborhood reunions, build and maintain community blogs, or start non-profit organizations with agendas based on wrangling the best that people have to offer.

Here's the other cheek.

You're welcome.

You are the optimist.
Hungry children all around the world thank you for raising the price of basic necessities 100 fold to support your goals of global...warming/cooling..naturally changing weather. Those goals have managed to starve millions. Accompished goal #1: reduce human population and reduce pollution. Greenpeace/Sierra Club should invite you as charter member. Congrats,be proud and turn your cheek anyway you wish it's all Yours for the credit.

I don't have "goals" other than raising awareness, Peter. Making me responsible is just your way of disclaiming responsibility yourself. It's easier to attack somebody else.

"If we're all going to be disagreeing more, we should be careful to do it well. What does it mean to disagree well? Most readers can tell the difference between mere name-calling and a carefully reasoned refutation, but I think it would help to put names on the intermediate stages. So here's an attempt at a disagreement hierarchy:"

Disagreement, can't say we've ever agreed on anything.
